Gas stove grates collect grease, spills, and burnt food very quickly. The easiest way to clean them is to soften the residue before scrubbing.
A gentle method protects the finish and avoids harsh product mixing.
Never clean grates while they are hot. Remove them from the stove only when they are completely cool.
Fill a sink or basin with hot water and 1 tablespoon dish soap. Soak the grates for 20 to 30 minutes to loosen grease.
Use a non-scratch sponge or brush. For stubborn spots, apply a paste made from 3 tablespoons baking soda and 1 tablespoon water, then scrub again.
Rinse well with clean water. Dry every part completely before putting the grates back, especially if they are cast iron.
Avoid mixing cleaning products, and check the manufacturer’s care instructions if the grates have a special coating.
To clean gas stove grates, soak first, scrub gently, rinse well, and dry completely. Regular light cleaning makes heavy buildup much easier to avoid.
