Homemade Fruit Gummy Bears With Real Juice

These homemade fruit gummy bears are colorful, simple and made with real juice instead of artificial flavoring.

Use certified halal gelatin for a classic chewy texture, or agar-agar for a firmer plant-based version.

Ingredients for about 40 small gummies

  • 180 ml fruit juice, such as orange, berry or apple
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 20 g certified halal gelatin powder, or 4 g agar-agar powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon fruit puree, optional for stronger color

How to make fruit gummy bears

Warm the juice

Pour the fruit juice into a small saucepan. Add honey and lemon juice, then warm gently over low heat. Do not let the mixture boil.

Add the setting ingredient

For gelatin, sprinkle it over the warm liquid and whisk until fully dissolved. For agar-agar, simmer the mixture gently for 1 to 2 minutes while whisking.

Fill the molds

Place silicone bear molds on a tray. Fill them carefully with a dropper or small spoon so the shapes stay neat.

Chill until firm

Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours, until the gummies are firm enough to remove cleanly from the molds.

Helpful tips

Choose naturally sweet juice for better flavor. Store the gummies in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy them within 4 to 5 days.

Conclusion

Homemade fruit gummy bears are easy to customize with different juices. They are a fun small treat when you want bright flavor and simple ingredients.
