This soft butter brioche is rich, fluffy and perfect for breakfast or a sweet snack.
The key is to knead the dough well and add the butter slowly for a light pull-apart crumb.
Mix flour, sugar, yeast, eggs, milk and salt. Knead for 8 to 10 minutes until the dough becomes elastic.
Add the soft butter a few pieces at a time, kneading well after each addition. The dough should become smooth and supple.
Cover and let rise until doubled. Shape the brioche, place it in a loaf pan and let it rise again for 45 to 60 minutes.
Brush with egg wash and bake at 180°C for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
Soft butter brioche takes patience, but the result is tender, fragrant and beautifully fluffy.
